Cyclemasters 4th of July Ride

Cyclemasters Sock Ride

SaddleBrooke Cyclemasters had a terrific time on July 2 when we had our annual celebration of the 4th of July. The riders rode around the neighborhood collecting raffle tickets. At the end, the winners were awarded some really fun socks they can wear anytime they just want to have fun with the group. Seems we always have fun on these rides.

We have been busy. Many of our members are off on a Bike and Barge trip over in the Netherlands. While we found out that two of our members lost their luggage on the way there (no worries—it was found and returned to them in two days), the group is reportedly having a blast. We look forward to finding out more about their trip when they return.

Additional trips with the Cyclemasters are coming up.

If you’d like to see Flagstaff and/or ride the rims of the Grand Canyon, we have a trip planned in the fall for this scenic trip from Sept 12 through Sept 15.

Another trip of interest is to North Idaho in June 2023. The Coeur d’Alene area is one of the top cycling destinations in the country. This area hosts several Rails-to-Trails bicycle paths, including two that are in the Rails-to-Trails Hall of Fame. Join us for five days of great biking on the Route-of-the-Hiawatha, Trail-of-the-Coeur-d’Alenes, and the Centennial Trail.

Cyclemasters is always welcoming new members. All you have to have is an interest in cycling, a decent bike for riding, a helmet, and a water bottle. It would be great if you join us to learn more. Saturdays are the best day to ride with us. We meet by the SaddleBrooke One bocce ball courts. For the months of July and August, our start times will be 7 a.m. During the summer, we beat the heat and have early rides. Starting in September, our rides will start at 7:30 a.m. Our website www.saddlebrookecyclemasters.org gives further details, including details on most of our ride opportunities.

Cyclemasters has both inside SB and outside rides. Inside rides are typically one hour and are broken into skill level. Inside SaddleBrooke rides last about an hour, followed by coffee at the RoadRunner. Outside rides are longer and typically take two to three hours. E-bikes are welcome.
