No, they’re not practicing attorneys and please don’t call them about a medical malpractice suit. What they are are two winners in the annual competition for the Links Cup. This is the fourth year the cup has been contested and there has been a different winner every year. Alan Culley won the cup this year with a net score of 135, including only nine putts during one nine-hole stretch of the 36-hole tournament. And speaking of putting, Allen DeHart had only 61 putts over the 36 holes, 11 below the standard of two putts per hole, so he won the prize for the fewest putts. Pictured on page 37 (left to right) are Allen DeHart, Dave Thomas, President of SaddleBrooke Links Players Fellowship and Alan Culley, winner of the 2017 Links Cup.
After the conclusion of the tournament, players and spouses gathered at MountainView Clubhouse for a celebration dinner and presentation of the Links Cup to Alan, with 34 people joining in the festivity. Links Players is an organization of followers of Jesus Christ who enjoy playing golf. I think Jesus would have been pleased with the lively conversation and love for each other that were shown at this awards dinner.
