On Monday, September 14 the public was invited to attend the annual Golden Goose Thrift Shop Fashion Show which kicks off the new year for SaddleBrooke Community Outreach and all of its programs for children in neighboring communities.
The show was titled Touring Tucson and featured all kinds of outfits and items that one might use while visiting various locales in our town. Clothing included everything from a full length beaver coat to sleepwear to a sailor suit from the USS Enterprise (featured in the Antiques and Collectable outfits).
The Golden Goose dedicates its proceeds to support the programs of SBCO as well as IMPACT of Southern Arizona. That profitable resale store helps SBCO operate Kids’ Closet, supplies college scholarships to area high school graduates as well as with tutoring programs in local schools, clothe teens in our area, support enrichment programs and provide food for the Tri Community Food Bank.
Volunteers with the GGTS modeled the clothing and displayed items available in the store. The photo is of the GGTS Board President Larry Clark in his Superman costume. Perhaps it takes a Superman to see that so many people benefit from services of the thrift store. Thank you everyone who made this another fun fall event for SBCO.
