The Community Church at SaddleBrooke welcomed Dr. Catherine Allen as its new Music Director and expressed its thanks to their interim Music Director, Ron Aeschliman, at a potluck dinner on Wednesday, August 27 at the home of Ron and Leah Kari.
Dr. Allen received her Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Arizona, her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor’s degree in French Language and Literature from Wellesley College. She has studied and performed in various workshops and music festivals in the States and abroad. She currently offers private lessons in piano, voice, violin and guitar in her local music studio. Catherine lives in Oro Valley and will be an important asset to the Community Church
Forty members of the choir and church board and their spouses attended as well as some of the congregation interested in learning more about the choir.
Ron Kari, choir member and party host, said: “Ron Aeschliman was asked by the church board to fill the need for an interim choir director. He accepted the challenge and provided stability and leadership until the permanent position was filled by Catherine Allen.”
Pastor Gary Williams, Ron Aeschliman and Dr. Catherine Allen made brief comments, and Karyl Georgio then presented Ron with a gift from the choir for his commitment and direction to a ministry he loves.
The Community Church at SaddleBrooke is an all denominational church that welcomes all to attend services. The church meets in the Desert View Theater at 8:30 a.m. each Sunday.
