In July the Community Church at SaddleBrooke (CCSB) received donations for Family First Pregnancy Care Center as part of their Blue Bag Sunday program. Family First is one of CCSB’s Mission Partners and receives annual financial support. The focus of the donations was for school supplies. Twenty-four backpacks, $300 in school supplies, and 1,153 diapers were donated.

Blue Bag Sundays are scheduled by CCSB throughout the year to provide for special needs in the Greater Tucson area. This includes Blue Bag Sundays for school supplies, newborn family needs, clothing for the homeless, toiletries for homeless centers, and toys and candy for the Salvation Army Harvest Festival and a Souper Bowl Sunday to collect soup for the Salvation Army’s Amphi Corp.

Family First is an educational facility and referral resource center for pregnancy-related issues, sexual health, and sexual integrity. Their Bright Course lessons are for singles, teens, and families with children of all ages. They support building strong family relationships for an environmentally safe community. Their purpose is to educate and familiarize the client about their pregnancy, nutrition, safety, and caring for their child while providing access to the basic needs of material assistance like diapers and clothes. They encourage a faith in Jesus Christ as a foundation to building relationships before marriage and godly examples to their children. Through the Family Diaper Bank, they serve four counties for the disabled, elderly, and infants with incontinence supplies. They are a provider for car seats for infants and toddlers . Their Ten for Teens program is for 13- to 19-year-olds to give inspiration for students to continue on their quest of academic and personal growth while learning from hands-on activities that foster skill development and confidence.
