Over 80 members and friends of the SaddleBrooke Dog Park gathered on May 2 for the first ever Cinco de Fido Fun Raiser.

The event, held at the SaddleBrooke One Activity Center, featured a taco bar with all the goodies, including the special Mexican taco meat cooked by member Janice Orum. The meal was topped off with special cookies made by Lauren Jackson and Janine Wahlfeld.

In addition to the decorations made by a committee, Cynthia Martin spearheaded the making of cacti centerpieces which were raffled. Tammy Brown put together a “guess how many dog bones in the jar,” followed by a rousing game of trivia, moderated by Trudy Rossi.

“There is no way it could have succeeded without the help of many dedicated volunteers who were willing to pitch in and cook, decorate, set up, clean up, donate and help in any way possible,” said Dog Park president Kathleen Dunbar.

Cinco de Fido was chaired by Trudy Rossi, SBDP board member and chair of special events and sponsors. She indicated over $2,000 was made to go toward maintenance and improvements of the park.
