Children’s Clinics, located in the Square & Compass Building on the Tucson Medical Center (TMC) campus, is a beacon of hope for families in Southern Arizona. Serving over 5,000 children with medical complexities, the clinic provides comprehensive, family-centered outpatient care for children with a wide range of pediatric conditions, such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, Down syndrome, cleft lip and palate, and many other serious health concerns.
As a nonprofit organization, Children’s Clinics offers an inviting and comfortable atmosphere where children and their families receive medical, therapeutic, and social support. The clinic’s multidisciplinary approach means families have access to a broad range of services under one roof, including pediatric specialists, rehabilitation therapies, behavioral health, and dental care. Children’s Clinics is proud to be the Southern Arizona provider for the AHCCCS Children’s Rehabilitative Services (CRS) program and also accepts most private insurances, AHCCCS health plans, and private-pay patients. With accreditation by The Joint Commission, the clinic upholds a strong commitment to safety and quality, ensuring the best care for patients, physicians, and staff.
Serving Children with Complex Medical Needs
Children’s Clinics stands out for its dedication to serving children from birth to young adulthood, regardless of the complexity of their medical needs. Whether a child is born with a genetic condition, experiences developmental delays, or faces physical disabilities, the clinic provides specialized care that addresses both their medical and emotional needs.
In addition to medical care, Children’s Clinics understands that a child’s experience should extend beyond office visits. The clinic offers a range of programs designed to help children enjoy life to the fullest, despite the challenges they face. One such program is the Adaptive Recreation initiative, which gives children of all abilities the opportunity to play sports like tennis, soccer, and basketball, as well as engage in creative activities like theatre, dance, and music. These activities not only improve physical health but also foster social interaction, confidence, and joy for the children involved.
Removing Barriers to Care
Children’s Clinics recognizes that families of children with complex medical needs often face financial and logistical challenges in accessing care. The clinic’s Family Support Fund is designed to remove these barriers by providing assistance for medical devices and services not covered by insurance. This fund also helps families with essential needs like diapers, wipes, car seats, and even utility or rent assistance, ensuring that no child is left without the support they need.
Through its holistic approach, Children’s Clinics provides more than just medical care—it creates a supportive community where families can find relief, hope, and resources for their children’s health and well-being.
