Good news! The SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club (SBDC) has just been approved to resume many of our activities in the SaddleBrooke One Vermillion Room and the SaddleBrooke TWO Mariposa Room and MountainView Ballroom. These beautiful dance floors are a great place to learn some new styles, add steps to your current repertoire, or improve steps that you have already tried. Given the recent confirmation of space availability, the following events are still tentative, pending final planning details, but we want to alert you to our plans. Be sure to check our website, www.sbballroomdance.com, to confirm the events as the dates approach.
First, let’s look at our very popular, free ballroom dance lessons. Each month we will highlight two different ballroom dance styles, such as waltz, East Coast or West Coast Swing, rumba, or nightclub two step. SBDC also offers coached dance practice where instructors are available to answer your questions, and you have a chance to practice on our beautiful dance floors. Please review the calendar at www.sbballroomdance.com for more details. And tentatively put these weekly events on your calendar!
Sunday: Open dance practice, MountainView Ballroom, 3 to 5 p.m.
Monday: Dance lessons, SaddleBrooke TWO Mariposa Room, 6 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday: Dance lesson review, Vermillion Room, 10 a.m. to noon
Wednesday: Open dance, SaddleBrooke One Vermillion Room, 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Thursday: Dance lessons, Mariposa Room, 6 to 8 p.m. (except for the first Thursday of each month. See below for what happens then!)
Saturday: Dance lesson review, Vermillion Room, 10 a.m. to noon
Sunday: Open dance, SaddleBrooke TWO Ballroom, 3 to 5 p.m.
And there is more!
We hope to hold our monthly Dine and Dance on the first Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Join us in the SaddleBrooke One Vistas Dining Room for dinner (order from the Vistas menu) and in the adjacent Vermillion Room for dance. Tentative dates for the remainder of 2021 are June 3, July 1, Aug. 5, Sept. 2, Oct. 7, Nov. 4, and Dec. 2. This is a fun social event with wonderful DJ playlists, great food, warm conversation, and lots of dancing! (Occasionally special activity at the clubhouse may result in a schedule change. As the event approaches, please check for any changes on our website at www.sbballroomdance.com.)
Free dance classes are available to SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club members. You are welcome to try a class before you join the club. It’s easy to join SBDC, and membership is only $20 per year! Just go to the club’s website, www.sbballroomdance.com, and click on Membership near the top of the right-hand column. On the Membership page, click on Membership Forms and Info in the page text. That link will take you to a membership form. Just complete and bring to class.
