If you were near the HOA 1 Activity Center on Tuesday, October 17 you undoubtedly caught the aroma of great smelling food and some of the mellow sounds of a guitar-playing singer. The Activity Center was packed with attendees from all of SaddleBrooke and the Ranch.
Resurrection Church at SaddleBrooke invited Cowboy Dave to share his music at their harvest potluck dinner. As usual, an abundant variety of food was prepared for the evening. At times the Activity Center sounded like it was hosting a Bill Gaither gathering as the group enjoyed singing along with Cowboy Dave’s rendition of old hymns and other familiar melodies.
Cowboy Dave is actually Dr. Dave Rychener, a Christian guy who writes music and both sings and plays old hymns like few others. His regular job is with the Veterans Administration where he serves as a coach for military personnel who are setting goals for their medical care plans while in VA medical facilities. He also works with the veterans on other life and career plans. Dave says he really enjoys helping those who have served our nation as they get ready for life outside of the uniform.
In addition to his full-time job, Dave and his wife operate a small guest ranch/retreat center north of SaddleBrooke. Dave also provides musical entertainment for small gatherings in the community. When his calendar allows, Cowboy Dave performs occasionally at local area restaurants. As Dave says, it is a special joy to share his Christian message through song and everyday actions.
With great music and wonderful food and fellowship, Resurrection’s Fall Harvest Gathering was a success! Special thanks to the many volunteers who helped make this event happen.
Resurrection Church at SaddleBrooke holds its traditional all-denominational worship services on Sundays at 8:30 and 10:00 a.m. in the Vermilion Room of the HOA 1 Clubhouse. Please feel welcome to join us one of these Sundays.
