Linda Holt treated the Quester Chapter of Catalina Timewalkers in December to a delicious holiday brunch in her beautifully decorated home. She was assisted by Cris Lieber and Nancy Hoffman. Following the brunch the members shared special holiday memories.
The November meeting was hosted by Roberta Williams assisted by Marianne Lyons. Cathy Hufault, author of Death Clouds on Mt. Baldy, presented the interesting program. The only book written about six Tucson Boy Scouts who, in November of 1958, set out to hike Mt. Baldy on a nice day that turned into a historical blizzard. A monumental 19-day search was made for the boys. The mysteries behind the boys’ disappearance, where they were found and how they spent their last hours were uncovered by the excellent research in the writing of this book. Cathy Hufault’s brother Ralph was one of the scouts.
In October, Rose Meyer was host in her home assisted by Paula Radtke. Rose presented the program on Decoupage. She gave a historical background on decoupaging, which is an ancient art of decorating surfaces with paper cutouts or fabrics on a variety of surfaces. The surfaces are then covered with layers of lacquer. Rose demonstrated a special method of decoupaging fabrics onto glass plates and has made many beautiful place settings.
