Members of Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge No. 2815 met at the Golder Ranch Fire District Training Center on November 21 and stuffed 300 bags with Thanksgiving food items for distribution by IMPACT of Southern Arizona to underprivileged families. Each family also received a turkey, pies and rolls for their Thanksgiving dinner. The food is purchased with donations from super markets and various community organizations. The Lodge supports this worthy endeavor every year and donates to the food bank on a regular basis.
Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge and IMPACT SoAZ were both established in 2000 and provide support and aid to the community. IMPACT operates as a food and clothing bank and senior center and offers youth programs and community education to families and seniors in need in northwest Tucson, southeast Pinal County, Catalina, Oro Valley, SaddleBrooke, Vail and surrounding communities.
