Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge No. 2815 used money that was intended for the Easter Shopping Spree for Roadrunner Elementary School students to make a $3,000 donation to their food bank. The annual shopping spree for clothing was unable to take place this year due to the coronavirus closure of schools.
Roadrunner school nurse, Mary Butler, requested a donation to the food bank for their students and families because so many are in need. Lodge Clothe-a-Child coordinator, Joyce Garcia, thought it was a great idea and received additional funds from the Catalina Mountain Elks Lodge Past Exalted Rulers Association to donate to the food bank. Roadrunner School Principal Kristina Brewer, school nurse Mary Butler, staff members Amy Moore and Nichole Kaiser will purchase groceries and household products with the donation.
