What’s The Most Wonderful Time of the Year? The answer is not when your mother-in-law flies back to Chicago or Minneapolis. It is, of course, Christmastime and all that goes with it – including some of the greatest music ever written.

On Friday evening December 11 at 7:00 p.m., SaddleBrooke’s Canada del Oro Barbershop Chorus (CDOBC) will present its holiday harmony musical program at the DesertView Performing Arts Center (DVPAC). Joining them in this show, which just so happens to be called The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, will be the talented International Senior Silver Medalist men’s quartet High Priority and the terrific Chandler High School women’s barbershop choral group The Treblemakers.

High Priority received their recognition at this past winter’s Barbershop Harmony Society international competition in New Orleans. The Treblemakers are the companion choral group to the CHS Men’s Chorus which delighted the DVPAC audience last March at the CDOBC Salute to Irving Berlin. Both groups are directed by Lori Lyford, one of America’s great Sweet Adelines and youth group leaders.

Tickets for the show are $20 and are on sale at the MountainView HOA 2 Ticket Office (825-2818) or online at www.saddlebrooketwo.com/desertview. This is truly the most wonderful time of the year and you and your friends and family will have a truly wonderful evening. And who knows, maybe it will snow that night.

And you men who like to sing are invited to join our chorus. Our Director Nancy Bergman is wonderful and our bottom line is to sing well and have fun. We rehearse every Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. in the DVPAC’s Mariposa Room. Between now and December you’ll have time to learn the music and sing in our December 11 show. Questions? Call Jerry Gustafson at 818-0882 or visit our website  at www.canadadeloro.org.
