The dog days of summer didn’t slow the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club down one bit. We were very beeezzzy this summer with many different activities.
There is something new happening at our club; Sharing Steps is a joint venture between Rancho Vistoso Line Dance Club and our club here in SaddleBrooke. A plan was put in place by the presidents and social chairpersons of each club. Members of each club met for our first Sharing Steps at Rancho Vistoso. We discovered that we have 17 line dances in common. We started the evening with those dances then, at break time, we shared ideas and got acquainted with one another. Rancho Vistoso taught our club a level one country western dance called Memphis Love. It was our turn to share one of our dances with them; a lively, level one dance called Shuffle Boogie Soul. We ended our evening in high spirits and look forward to our next Sharing Steps here in SaddleBrooke.
Another activity this summer was our Chit Chat and Chow (luncheon) held at the Oracle Patio Café. Everyone indulged in delicious food while we welcomed several new members to our club and also celebrated Donna Erickson’s birthday. How many years is it, Donna?
Independence Day, eleven members of our club celebrated by performing for the sell-out crowd at the July Fourth extravaganza at HOA 1. Our thanks to Dorothy Wood for the lineup of dances set to patriotic music. We also would like to congratulate Barbara Sullivan who performed for the first time with the SaddleBrooke Line Dance Club. We sat down to a sumptuous buffet prepared and served by the talented staff of HOA 1. The fireworks began and many o-o-os and aaah’s were heard from the gathering crowd. Happy birthday, U.S.A!
All residents are invited to join our club for fellowship, fun and exercise through dance. The best way to get started is to attend the beginner, level one workshop on Tuesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Vermilion Room at HOA 1. There is also a level one program in the ballroom at MountainView on Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
