This event, aka “Bring a Friend,” has been a yearly golf tournament where MPLNiners ask friends or family to join them on the course. This year’s event was a shotgun and was held at the MountainView Golf Course on April 22.
All members and guests convened at the MountainView Pro Shop area to register, buy raffle tickets, buy mulligans, and donate to the chosen charity, IMPACT of Southern Arizona. Executive Director Barbara McClure was in attendance.
PGA Head Golf Professional Wayne Clark announced the scramble, closest to the pin, pro drive, and squiggly line. Prizes were awarded for the golfers who beat the odds.
While the golfers were on the course, Committee Chair Loralee Horwedel and some of her committee who were not
golfing prepared the dining room. The napkins were made into birds’ nests and filled with a golf ball and birds.
The committee wore colorful hats, and all the participants were given feather boas and feather headbands.
