Those of you who entertain know that in preparing for a performance you reach the milestone where you can say, “It’s all coming together.”
Such is the case for SaddleBrooke’s Canada del Oro Barbershop Chorus in their preparation for the March 18 DesertView Performing Arts Center performance Berlin Goes Barbershop. The chorus members are getting their act together in flawlessly committing to memory the music and lyrics of Berlin favorites. The Regional Champion Sweet Adelines quartet Contempo continues to provide musical treats entertaining various groups in various venues. And the lads who are members of the Chandler High School Men’s Chorus continue to be recognized as one of America’s best young groups of singers as, last month in New Orleans, they were awarded an Outstanding rating and were singled out with the Audience Favorite Award at the International Youth Chorus Festival sponsored by the Barbershop Harmony Society.
So yes, the March 18 Berlin show will be a musical extravaganza that is not to be missed. Many of you readers attended the January Lonely Street Productions performance of Berlin’s music which was very nicely done. The March 18 DVPAC 7:00 p.m. performance will be in many ways different and you’ll hear some of your Berlin favorites with a new twist. The March show, however, will ring with harmony and will have that extraordinary energy and exhilaration which comes with youth.
You don’t want to miss the show. Buy your tickets at the MountainView Ticket Office (825-2818) for $20, and do so before they are sold out.
