Ask the Instructors

Laurence Edralin

The SaddleBrooke Computer Club has assembled their best instructors in a new and very special format for SaddleBrooke residents who find themselves curious or facing a brick wall with a new device or technology or something they have had for some time and have not understood completely. You may have numerous questions about that phone or tablet you just bought, or connection issues on how to make things work that are connected to the internet.

The club will present a new and innovative way to get answers to those questions. We have changed our normal Tech Talk by combining a question and answer session with an opportunity to bring your device or ask questions of the instructor best suited to answer your issue. As a two-part program, the first portion will have the instructors on stage, ready to answer questions posed by the audience. Mics will be set up for people to ask questions. The benefit of this is that it allows the entire audience to hear the responses, and that alone will perhaps help them to understand the issue they came with. These will be short periods to allow for the many anticipated questions. The second program is one-on-one specific to your situation. Five instructors will be in the front to work with individuals or small groups.

Here are just few areas represented by these instructors:

• Apple products: Mac, iPhone, iPad, Watch

• Windows environments: Windows 11, MS Office, MS Word, LibreOffice

• Communications: TV streaming, TV apps, wireless routers

• Android devices: Phones, tablets

Mark your calendar and plan to attend this new program. We hope to see you there and be able to answer those lingering questions.

Where: DesertView Theatre

When: Monday, Jan. 5

Time: 1 to 2:30 p.m.

We recently had a large number at our last Tech Talk, and many had to wait in line to enter the theater. In anticipation of another large audience, we have taken steps to speed this up with multiple sign-up stations. We apologize for the recent delays.
