Members of the SaddleBrooke Photography Club are always on the lookout for cool stuff to take pictures of. And what’s cooler than classic cars?
In October photographers from the club took a field trip to the Tucson Auto Museum (4825 N. Sabino Canyon Road) with cameras in hand. This museum preserves rare and unique classic cars from around the world. The collection boasts more than 70 vehicles, including a sweet Model T, a stunning 1929 Duesenberg Model J, a one-of-a-kind 1948 Kurtis-Omohundro Comet, a 1957 Dual-Ghia, and cars used on the sets of Mannix, Charlie’s Angels, and Batman. The 20,000+-square-foot facility also features nostalgic automobilia, like signs and gas pumps from yesteryear. Among the oohs and aahs, we heard plenty of shutters snapping!
The Photography Club is always on the lookout for fabulous things to see, whether its vintage machines, birds in flight, breathtaking landscapes, or even aesthetic piles of junk. Come join us for the fun and have a blast capturing memories to show off to your friends and family. Our photographers range from seasoned pros to total newbies, and everyone is welcome to join. Your experience doesn’t matter—only your appreciation of how images sustain wonderful memories. We share our photos, admire the work of our camera-carrying neighbors, and receive tons of great tips from some of SaddleBrooke’s most creative people.
November’s events included a showing of our best photos from recent travel, a review of photos with the theme “Repetition,” and meetings of special interest groups where we learned tips about our cameras (including phones!) and expert hints on photo software. December features a trip to Whitewater Draw to see thousands (seriously, thousands!) of sandhill cranes, as well as a talk where astronomy guru Randy Smith shares tips about how to take great pictures of stars and planets.
Come join in the fun and take your visual creativity to a new level by visiting photosb.org or emailing photosb.org@gmail.com.
