Annual Meeting December 13

Please attend the annual meeting on Dec. 13 from 1 to 3 p.m. This meeting affects our common life together and, as we look to the future, how we grow as a Jewish congregation.

The 2023 annual meeting minutes will be available, reports will be presented, and, most importantly, we will elect new officers and review and vote on our new bylaws. We will reflect on our 2023-24 activities. Together we will celebrate our accomplishments and look forward to new ones. You are encouraged to attend the annual meeting on Dec. 13. And, yes, there will be ice cream.

If you are interested in serving on the board, please contact Esta Goldstein at [email protected]. And as you learn of plans and opportunities, we hope that you will volunteer to support our congregation’s programs. Times and locations will be sent to the congregation and guests.

A B’nai Mitzvah! Similar to a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, the B’nai Mitzvah celebrates the reading of the Torah to the congregation for an adult who missed the opportunity at the age of 12 for girls or 13 for boys. Study is comparable to the Bar and Bat Mitzvah. It is long, difficult, and time consuming. Marilyn Anthony, a longstanding member and active contributor to our congregation, read from the Torah in October, thereby having her B’nai Mitzvah! We are excited for her! This was a dream she had since she was 12 years old. At that time, girls did not have a Bat Mitzvah. Mazel Tov (Congratulations), Marilyn, on this major achievement!
