A lovely house concert

Mary Jo Bellner Swartzberg

What better way to spend an evening than with friends, fabulous food, adult beverages and memorable music? And so it was that on a beautiful SaddleBrooke Saturday evening Tom and Marjorie Herrmann hosted a small group of 60 of their closest friends, on their lovely patio, to listen to J.D. Loveland, SaddleBrooke resident and noted guitar balladeer. The evening, although a bit chilly, was filled with familiar sounds from the 1960s through the 1980s. Those present were heard joining in as J.D. sang such songs as Born to be Wild, from the movie Easy Rider as well as, among other songs, Margaritaville, by Jimmy Buffet; yes, people picked up salt shakers and chanted SALT! SALT! SALT!

There is something magical about these outdoor concerts; something that brings us all together under a shared, musical history of our lives. And, it is gratifying to know that we have a special person who lives here, J.D. Loveland, who keeps the music and our memories alive.

J.D. enjoys performing and it shows in his wonderful singing and guitar playing ability, as well as his delivery of the music we all enjoy. If you would like him to perform for your next event, he is only a call or text away at 619-246-7060!
