A Lot to See at the Quilt Show March 24!

“Desert Staircase” raffle quilt

The SaddleBrooke Quilters Quilt Show will be held in the SaddleBrooke MountainView Ballroom on March 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Boutique and demonstrations are held in adjacent rooms at the clubhouse. Admission is free!

More than 90 beautifully sewn quilts will be on display, with some large and small quilts for sale. Our stunning queen-size raffle quilt this year is called “Desert Staircase” and has elements of hand painting, hand applique, piecing, and exceptional quilting. At the Tucson Quilters Guild Quilt Fiesta Quilt Show, held Feb. 23 through 25, “Desert Staircase” was awarded first place in the Group category and first place in the Viewer’s Choice category! This collaborative effort by members is considered one of our finest quilts to date.

Also offered for raffle are three Dine Around packages valued at $600, $500, and $430 each from wonderful area restaurants. Participating Dine Around restaurants are as follows: Bubb’s Grub, Cadillac Chaparral Steakhouse & Saloon, Catalina Craft Pizza, Charred Pie, Cheesecake Factory, Chili’s, Churrasco de Brasil Brazilian Steakhouse, First Watch, Harvest Restaurant, Kingfisher Bar & Grill, La Hacienda Family Mexican, Lick’s Ice Cream, Mali Thai, Mi Tierra Restaurant, MountainView Bar & Grill, Olive Garden Oro Valley, Ranch House Grill & Brewery, Red Lobster, Roadrunner Grill/SaddleBrooke One, Saffron Indian Bistro, Seis Kitchen, Sunny Side Up Café, The Keg, The Preserve Fine Dining, Tohono Chul Gardens Bistro, Village Bakehouse, Vivace, and Wildflower. Now, these are 28 great reasons not to cook dinner!

The Boutique is always popular with the many items that it has to offer for sale—everything from tote bags to table runners, holiday items, small quilts, water bottle holders, and placemats. You will find it in the Boutique! The Boutique is across the hall from the ballroom.

Large and small display quilts will also be for sale, so when you are viewing the quilts, look for the tag indicating that it is for sale!

Learning something new is fun, too! Machine embroidery, easy piecing/scrappy quilts, and embellishments demonstrations will be held in the Cactus Room and taught by members Sheri Nockels, Jeanne Soling, and Stephanie Nordlin.

These and other displays will be at the show, too. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase at the Quilt Show and from your friendly SaddleBrooke Quilter! You need not be present to win. Proceeds from the show help fund our charitable and educational projects.

We look forward to seeing you at our show! Thank you for attending!
