15th century Retablo painting
Join us for the Friends of SaddleBrooke Libraries lecture on April 17 at 4 p.m. at the DesertView Theatre as we welcome Olivia Miller, director of the U of A Museum of Art. Since joining the museum, Olivia has curated more than 30 exhibitions and has had the time to be a devoted art educator. She will introduce us to some prized artworks at the museum, including a 15th century Retablo. She will share two stories with us as well. The first is a tale about a stolen and then recovered Willem de Kooning work of art, and the second is the history of the founding of the museum when an alum donated his collection of 100 works of American art, which included Edward Hopper’s The City.
The lecture is free to members and $5 for non-members.
