The SaddleBrooke Singers’ Director Linda Griffin, in her last season as director of the group, has chosen an outstanding selection of songs for her farewell performance. Dr. Griffin has led the Singers for ten years. During her tenure she has proven to be an outstanding director and teacher, improving the quality of both the programs and performances by selecting music that challenges the Singers’ abilities.
This year’s concert is entitled A Classic Christmas Holiday and will be presented on December 4 and 6. There will be a mix of contemporary Christmas songs including: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, We Need a Little Christmas, Sleigh Ride, Santa Baby and The Christmas Song as well as two Hanukkah songs, Ose Shalom and A Hanukkah Suite.
Traditional holiday songs include What Sweeter Music, Of the Father’s Love Begotten, Silent Night and In the Bleak Midwinter. On the classic side: Pachelbel’s Canon of Peace, Beethoven and Brahms’ Christmas Peace (written and composed by Dr. Griffin), Hallelujah Chorus and Amen Chorus (from Handel’s Messiah).
We hope you will join us in celebrating the season and wishing Linda a fond farewell as we present this special program.
