Almost 30 Freethinkers attended the June 16 Thirdsty Thursday. Even in the sizzling summer, we mix and mingle, circulate and percolate at our SaddleBrooke Freethinkers monthly social gathering. We meet new people every time and introduce them to the concept and philosophy of freethinkers.
When? From 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on the third Thursday, May through September. (Third plus Thirsty = Thirdsty; then add Thursday.) This is an informal two-hour mixer for SaddleBrooke Freethinkers to get to know each other better in a casual setting. Come join us to circulate and percolate.
Where? In the Roadrunner Grill at the SaddleBrooke One Clubhouse, lower level. New SaddleBrooke resident Bart Briefstein is our host.
What? Whatever you want to discuss. There is no guest speaker, topics list or formal agenda.
Who? Residents and guests of SaddleBrooke One, SaddleBrooke Two and SaddleBrooke Ranch. You don’t have to be a member to attend. Regardless of political, religious or sexual preference, or any other criterion, all are welcome. We respect everyone’s right to think freely.
Can’t make it on time? Need to leave early? No worries! Just pop in when you can; leave when you must. For your convenience here are the dates through 2016: July 21, August 18 and September 15.
Our more structured monthly meetings with a formal presentation are usually held the fourth Sunday morning each month, October through April. The first official meeting of the 2016-2017 season will be October 23 in the MountainView Clubhouse Ballroom at SaddleBrooke Two. Our guest speaker is Dr. Bonnie Buntain, DVM. Her presentation, One Health, is about the relationships between humans and animals with the environment. We are a non-sectarian group with no creeds, no dogmas, no obligations and no dues. According to our organizational charter, we “believe in the responsible search for truth and meaning and in the application of reason and science to the understanding of the universe and the solving of human problems. We believe that tolerance, compassion, equity and civility should characterize the interaction among peace-loving persons and organizations.”
