Gathered to celebrate a successful year of dancing, the volunteer teachers of the Let’s Dance Club ushered in the holiday season. The teachers, all experienced amateur dancers, taught Cha Cha, Fox Trot, Waltz, Argentine Tango, Rumba, East Coast Swing and several other dances in 2015. The celebration was held at the home of Claudia Booth and Tom Clairmont. While no dancing was done that evening there were several rousing choruses of familiar holiday songs.
The Let’s Dance lessons are free to members of the club and include instruction for both beginning dancers and those more advanced. In 2016 Linda and Barry Moore are teaching the Cha Cha in January ([email protected]). Steve Hess will teach the Latin Hustle in February ([email protected]). March will bring lessons in Salsa; register with Dave Poferl ([email protected]). The East Coast Swing will be taught in April. Please register with Claudia Booth ([email protected]). The Fox Trot will be featured in April; register with Ann Kurtz ([email protected]).
The Let’s Dance Club and SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club have a combined membership fee of $10 per person per year. Membership gives you access to the activities of both clubs.
The SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club will host the first Thursday of the month dinner/dance on February 4, 2016, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Vistas Dining Room of the SaddleBrooke Clubhouse. Dancing will be in the adjacent Vermilion Room. Anyone is welcome to attend this event. The SBDC also sponsors weekly open dances/practices on Sunday afternoons (4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at MountainView Ballroom) and Wednesday afternoons (4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at the Vermilion Room).
