Have you ever thought about making stained glass objects? Are you intrigued by the colors and creative designs of glass art objects? Would you like to make projects for your home and gifts for others?
We can help. After the summer hiatus, the SaddleBrooke Glass Club is looking for people interested in doing glass work. The club has been around for approximately eleven years and welcomes new members. The annual membership fee is $10. The club’s objectives are to learn about, share and promote interest in the art of stained glass. Check out information on upcoming classes beginning October 8, 2015, through January 4, 2016, including classes on cutting glass, beginner foil, mosaics, lead came, panel lamps and tiffany style lamp shades at http://saddlebrookeglass.com/. Current club members are able to work on their projects in the Turquoise Room at the HOA 2 Activity Center on Monday until noon and all day Thursday.
The club has most of the equipment for working on any project. This includes glass and bevel grinders, glass and came saws, a light box, circle cutter, lead stretcher, Morton systems and various patterns. We give seminars during the year to familiarize our members with the correct operation of these various tools.
If there are suggestions for other related classes and/or field trips, the club will consider holding them. Feel free to give us your suggestions and comments.
