Desert Stirrings

Sam Page

When desert winds are blowing

And the trees perform their dance,

Is that a fit and proper time

To think about romance?

When the Sonoran sun is high

And the desert land is baking

Could I assume that a sweet kiss

Is right there for the taking?

When the monsoon rains come

With noise and streaks of light,

Wouldn’t you agree that

A hug would be just right?

No matter the day or time of year,

Or if skies are gray, or blue,

It’s always the perfect time

To be, my love, with you.
