Rosemary Marcello

Rosemary Marcello

Rosemary Marcello was born in Mankato, Minn., on Oct. 14, 1946, and entered her Eternal Rest on March 15, 2026, at 79 years of age.

She graduated in 1965 from Good Counsel Academy High School in Mankato. After high school she attended the College of Saint Teresa in Winona, Minn., for three years before moving to St. Paul, Minn., in 1969. There she met her husband, Steven, and they were married on Dec. 16, 1972, a union that lasted 53 years. They made Centerville, Minn., their home from 1973 to 2014.

Rosemary was an exceptional water skier, an avid scuba diver (exploring multiple tropical locations over 25 years), a motorcycle enthusiast, and a skilled duplicate Bridge player. She worked for 30 years at 3M in St. Paul as an Advertising Supervisor in the Commercial Chemical Division retiring in 2000.

Horses, however, became their passion, making it an easy decision to retire permanently to Arizona in 2014 after spending many winters in SaddleBrooke, Ariz. They built a beautiful home very close to SaddleBrooke where they were able to build a stable to keep their beloved horses close. The Ranch needed a name and what better choice than “Two Horse Ranch.” Rosemary and Steve enjoyed many happy years there, horseback riding, exploring riding trails, dining at their favorite restaurants, and traveling to Montana each year to spend a few weeks on a dude ranch.

Rosemary was known for her sweet tooth. Of all the treats she loved, chocolate turtles were at the top of the list. Another favorite was her mother’s lemon bar recipe. She enjoyed trying new recipes, especially those that didn’t take too long to make, and was quite good at adapting them to suit her taste. Rosemary loved her home and was able to enjoy it until she was moved to Heritage Manor Assisted Living in Catalina, Ariz., where she passed away.

Everyone who knew her loved her magical and beautiful smile. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Rosemary was preceded in death by parents, Jerome and Lois Bach; sister, Jerelyn (Bach) Mahony; nephew, Thomas Andrew Krook; and mother-in-law, Norma Marcello. She was survived by Steven Douglas Marcello (who passed away April 22, 2026); daughter, Rachel Huber of Bellevue, Neb. (husband Kurt); stepsons, Steven Paul Marcello of New Richmond, Wis. (wife Lisa), Paul Joseph Marcello of Savannah, Ga.; sisters Rebecca (Bach) Huegel of St. Petersburg, Fla. (husband Louis), Roslyn (Bach) Krook of Menomonie, Wis.; grandchildren, greatgrands, nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family welcomes memorial donations to a horse shelter or hospice in your local area.

Steven Douglas Marcello, 81, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2026, in Tucson, Ariz. He was born on Feb. 22, 1945, in Baldwin, Wis.

He graduated from St. Paul Lutheran High School in 1963 where he lettered in football and was the class vice president.

Upon graduating, Steve wasn’t certain what career direction to take. On advice from Dennis Hansen, co-owner of Hansen Metal Manufacturing on Burgess Street, he enrolled in St. Paul Technical Vocational Institute to become a sheet metal worker. After graduation, he began an apprenticeship with Hansen Metal. After a number of years Hansen Metal merged with Kehne Electric and Marcello became part of their sheet metal division. Years later, he received his masters license and began his own business with his partner Alan Swanson in 1987. Excel Air Systems flourished and a good portion of the commercial heating and ventilating company business came from Bell Telephone/U.S. West.

Steve was a skilled water skier and scuba diver and enjoyed car shows with his 1957 Chevrolet. After retirement, he became passionate about horses and looked forward to their yearly trip to the 63 Ranch in Livingston, Mont. For several years, he and his long-time wife Rosemary were snowbirds and spent their winters in Tucson.
