The St. Patrick’s Day Softball Tournament is on Saturday, March 14.
Yep, well, let’s hope this edition is hanging on your mailbox just before the 14th, cuz it’s St. Patrick’s Day Tournament time! That’s right, softball fun, music, eats (donations appreciated), and lots of softball “dramedy” on tap on Saturday, the 14th, starting around 8:30 a.m. with three games for ya! Eats should be around “11-ish.” The tournament is sponsored appreciatively by Harn Legacy-Estate Planning and Debra Miller-State Farm (thanks again, Debra).
Winter League Action
On Mondays in Recreational, KJK Insurance Specialists has jumped out to a 5-3 league lead, while Heredia’s Landscaping has dug a bit of a hole for itself, falling to 3-5. In Community, it’s a battle, with Ann Fraley-Long Realty out in front with a 6-5 record, Barron Electric narrowly in second at 5-5, and Big Bear Garage Doors (the early league leader) falling back to 5-6. Could be a barnburner season for this league.
On Tuesdays in Community, Anne Glen-Long Realty has a commanding 6-1 advantage over Brittni Guttman-Allstate Insurance at 1-6. I hate to say that’s all she wrote, but with only three weeks to go, that’s kinda all she wrote for the Allstaters. Over in Competitive, Bubb’s Grub has grabbed a narrow 4-3 lead over Catalina Family Dental’s 3-4. Time for the Dentists to put the molars to the metal.
Wednesdays are Sidewinder (AA) and Community (AAA) day. In Sidewinder, Ambient Air Heating and Cooling at 5-2 has got the heat on Absolutely Art at 2-5. The Artists gotta get paintin’. In Community, there’s a battle brewing, with Dominick’s Real Italian at 4-3 and Debra Miller-State Farm at 3-4.
Thursdays now feature a second Rec league, as well as Coyote (65+). In Rec, Hughes Credit Union is 4-1 to Leah Kari Solutions’ 1-4. The Leah’s need to come up with a “solution” to their 1-4 record pretty quick, or its cellarville for them. Over in Coyote, Harn Legacy-Estate Planning is holding a slim 3-2 lead over Hardin Brothers Automotive at 2-3. Better crank up the RPMs, guys!
Friday teams finally got in a few games, and in Competitive, Cleere Law Offices has a slim 3-2 lead over Andy’s Irrigation at 2-3, and so the league bragging rights are still up for grabs. Not so in Community, where the Community Church at SaddleBrooke had moved out to a commanding 4-1 record over Concierge Heating and Cooling’s 1-4.
St. Patrick’s Day Tournament, March 14
That’s right, neighbors! A three- (maybe four- depending on sign-ups) game tournament featuring the women and men of the SSSA and sponsored (I’m told) by Debra Miller-State Farm and Harn Legacy-Estate Planning. Food, fun, softball, music, and plenty of neighborly yakkety-yak. Save the date!
Well, I could go on, as you know! But I’m at my limit, so that’s a wrap. Winter League games are daily, Monday through Friday, starting at 9 a.m. Practices are on Saturday when you can tune the bat and glove. You can surf the Association at saddlebrookesoftball.com.
