Signed peace treaties
Gave up land
And
Then found the treaties could be broken
If gold was found on their land
If railroads needed a right of way
If cities needed to expand
If settlers, cattlemen, sheep herders,
Loggers,
Resort developers,
Or
The Powers That Be
Needed their land.
Cities are on land not given up
Lawyers have been hired
But few news outlets report
The inequities
Few elected officials offer restitution
Few Americans believe
Any treaties were broken
But many were.
