The MountainView Preserve Lady Niners (MPLN) team of two, Jo Carter and Maria Miller, were named the overall winner of the State Medallion Golf Tournament. The tournament was held in 2026 at Oakwood Golf Club. This competition is open to all Arizona Women’s Golf Association members.
Jo Carter moved to SaddleBrooke three and a half years ago from Indiana, originally born and raised in Massachusetts. Jo golfs three or four days a week, learning to golf after she could no longer play softball. She is currently serving her third year as treasurer of the MPLN.
Maria started golfing after retiring and has qualified three times to represent the MPLN at the State Medallion Tournament. She feels with teamwork, steady play, and the love of the game, this wasn’t just a performance, but a display of friendship and sportsmanship.
