My paternal grandfather died of Alzheimer’s.
My father died of Alzheimer’s.
What will happen to me?
When the Small Slams Bridge Club of SaddleBrooke announced their annual fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association, I knew I had to get involved. This darn disease is affecting way too many people and disrupting way too many lives—way too early!
Here in SaddleBrooke, we enjoy a picture-perfect life of socialization opportunities, activities, and beauty. What an amazing retirement community! But all that can change so quickly …
Alzheimer’s disease is progressing so rapidly: One in three older adults dies of Alzheimer’s or another dementia.
What can we do to help?
1. We can sign up to play GAB (Games for Active Brains) 2026: Games for Active Brains is on Thursday morning, March 19. Any Mah Jongg player, duplicate bridge player, or social bridge player is welcome to join this fun fundraiser/gathering. We will be playing our chosen game and participating in a raffle and silent auction, then enjoying lunch together. The cost is $25, which covers the cost of the luncheon. For more information or to register, please email EndAlzheimers7@gmail.com by March 10.
2. We can donate to the Alzheimer’s Association via this link: events.alz.org/s/4889/5059.
In its last fundraiser, Small Slams raised $11,011. Our goal this year is $15,000. Please do what you can to help. Sign up or donate!
