First meeting of friends with a Colorado connection
Colorado State Party Update
Lynne Pendlebury and Linda Shamburg
Thank you to all those happy smiling faces who joined us on Sept. 27, and kudos for all those wonderful appetizers. Breaking bread with old and new friends is good for the soul. Hope all of you managed to make at least one new friend with a Colorado connection.
And to those who wanted to join us but couldn’t come that day, thank you for your support and interest. We will keep you updated as we move along with our plans.
And to those of you who have more recently found us through different means, welcome aboard! We are happy to have your support and interest as well.
Thank you all for joining in the fun! It is our goal to have our Colorado State Party Bash be the best event in 2026. Everyone save the date, please:
Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026.
As of today, we have reserved the entire Vistas Restaurant in SaddleBrooke One, and we’ve booked Sean Lewis to play guitar and lead us in a short John Denver sing-along, “Rocky Mountain High Colorado.”
We will enjoy a buffet dinner—no, we’re not serving Rocky Mountain Oysters.
We will probably have Colorado Trivia, some comedy, door prizes, a 50/50 raffle, and any other brilliant ideas our peeps come up with.
Two things we need all of you to do, please:
1. Beat the bushes in your unit and elsewhere for any other peeps with a Colorado connection who would like to join us. Just tell them to email rockybrookehi@gmail.com and express interest in joining us.
2. Think about volunteering to help. We could use the support (thank you to those who have already volunteered).
That’s all for now, folks. Email us if you have any questions or want to volunteer. Till next time!

Could you be the next Wisconsin Spirit winner?
Save the Date for the 2026 Wisconsin Party
Barbara Barr Bengen
Grab your Sharpie and mark the date on your calendar in University of Wisconsin red! The Wisconsin Party will be on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026. Same bat-time, same bat-place.
Dust off your cheesehead hat and see if your Packers shirt still fits. You’ll want to be dressed in your best Wisconsin duds. We’ll be looking for the best dressed!
But the best part of the Wisconsin Party is gathering with friends, neighbors, and new friends who all came here from America’s Dairyland. So, pass the word and watch the papers to find out more.
Not to brag, but my Bucky Badger earrings still fit me!
