On Sept. 18 the SaddleBrooke Men’s Putters and the Verde Sputters came together on the SaddleBrooke main putting green for their Second Annual Roosters and Hens Putting Tournament. Under sunny and warm skies, 24 men and 28 women competed in a spirited afternoon of putting, camaraderie, and fun.
The event paired players into mixed teams of two men and two women, with handicaps balanced to keep the competition fair and exciting. Each group worked its way through the greens, cheering one another on and enjoying the lively atmosphere.
When the scores were tallied, the top three teams emerged:
First place (157): Dawn Hecht, Peg Achter, Randy Garrison, and Mike Sachse
Second place (161): Laura Berkley, Karen Lott, Bruce Stead, and Ric Nicholson
Third place (162): Donna Gruninger, Mary Hubble, Al Weigel, and Roger Shamburg
After the tournament, players gathered at the Vistas Restaurant for a well-earned meal. Lunch featured sizzling chicken fajitas with beans and rice and all the fixings, capped off by a cherry cobbler dessert that drew rave reviews.
The Roosters and Hens Tournament continues to grow in popularity, offering both friendly competition and a chance for SaddleBrooke’s men and women putters to come together for a day of golf, good food, and fellowship.
