MountainView Lady Putters (MVLP) were guests of the Verde Sputters (VS) of SaddleBrooke One on March 17. While none of the 72 ladies caught a leprechaun at this event, evidence of the trickery of these little lads surrounded several holes on the putting green. With the help of the Verde Sputters, the tricky holes included crossing a bridge, avoiding clover patches, and finding a pot of gold.

Teams of two ladies each from MVLP and Verde Sputters competed for prizes, which were announced at the luncheon in The Vistas dining room following the putting event. Participants were treated to a buffet fajita meal and St. Patrick’s Day poetry and shenanigans while making new friends with both putting groups. Many thanks to the Verde Sputters for hosting an enjoyable event and luncheon.

First place putters were Kris Rudin and Camille Malone (MVLP) and Karen Lott and Sue Ryan (VS). Second place went to Joan Davis and Neba Reiter (MVLP) and Pam Young and Helen Bellacqua (VS). Third place went to Paula Fulton and Lori Hill (MVLP) and Reba Johnson and Jan Haney (VS).

Earlier in the month, MVLP held its monthly luncheon meeting, which featured Mardi Gras decorations, on March 10. Monthly reports and putting awards were presented, along with results of drawings for March birthdays and the 50/50 raffle. President Roxy Heacock asked members to sign up for a committee if they have not already done so. She reminded the members that it takes everyone to keep the organization running smoothly. For example, each week at the MountainView putting green, ladies who have signed up for a one-month rotation on the Course Set-Up, Course Take-Down, or Chip Starters Committee make Monday mornings run smoothly.

Committee members on the Sponsorship Committee of MVLP have been working to enlist sponsors in the SaddleBrooke community and neighborhood. Their hard work is paying off, as new sponsors are added weekly. In addition to member dues, donations, and raffles, these sponsors provide support to the ongoing activities of MVLP. Gold Sponsors are recognized for $500, Silver Sponsors for $250, and Bronze Sponsors for $125. Many thanks to the sponsors and to the committee members Sandy Valeton (advisor), Marty Fisher, Olga Clouser, Joan Brookhart, and Jan Arruda.
