Did we get your attention?
We are the SaddleBrooke Woodworkers Club, and we are looking to help our community. Our club formed about two years ago with a focus on two major goals.
First and foremost is to provide woodworking repairs and build wood projects for our friends and neighbors in SaddleBrooke. Over these past couple of years, we have refurbished the large nutcrackers that you see at SaddleBrooke One at Christmastime. We also built new storage boxes to keep the dolls in like-new condition. It was a major project with outstanding results.
We have also repaired chairs, tables, display cases, cabinets, pieces of wooden art, and many other smaller wooden projects. Most are done by our members at little or no cost. It has been a tremendous community service that has been appreciated by all who have seen the finished projects.
Our second major focus is working to have a community woodworking shop built. It will benefit our club members, as well as attract new residents who are looking to have a woodshop to use for their many projects. We are actively working to have a shop built and hope to have one built soon.
If you are interested in woodworking and would like to join our club, please join us at 2 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month in the Saguaro Room at the MountainView Community Center.
For more information or woodworking projects to build or repair, we are available by email at sb.wood.workers@gmail.com. We hope to see you at our next meeting!
