On Jan. 3 SaddleBrooke Quilters installed new officers for the club and honored outgoing President Linda Greenough. The new co-presidents are Suzanne Wood and Lynne Saul.
Linda Greenough was asked, “What were the highlights of your leadership year?” and she replied, “It’s been a pleasure to be associated with such a talented, dedicated, and generous group of quilters. Their commitment to their craft and to SaddleBrooke continues to amaze me.
“SaddleBrooke Quilters is open to quilters of all skill levels. We have beginner quilters all the way up to nationally-recognized and award-winning quilters. The beauty of the club is that people are more than willing to share their talents with their fellow members. If you’re stuck on a project, there’s sure to be someone who can help you out.
“We had a very successful quilt show this year, thanks to the support of the SaddleBrooke community. The money we raised is being used for education programs for our members and to support our charitable efforts including Quilts of Valor (awarded solely to 23 SaddleBrooke veterans) and service to local charities including Arizona Oncology, Hayden Senior Center, and Springboard Residential Home for Girls.”
For 2025, the heavy responsibilities of being president have been split between two co-presidents: Suzanne Wood and Lynne Saul. Both are excited to keep the energy up within the club and surge forward with new education for members and service projects that benefit our community.
Co-President Suzanne Wood has this welcome message: “Happy New Year, SaddleBrooke Quilters! Can you believe it is 2025? People born in 1975 will be 50 this year. We are a quarter of the way through this new century. How cool is that? As we welcome another year, let us celebrate the creativity and friendship we have stitched together over 2024 and years prior. Every project we create tells a story. It is exciting to share this journey together. Therefore, here’s to another year filled with vibrant fabrics, inspiring patterns, and sewing joy. May 2025 bring us loads of new ideas, finished projects, and time with each other.”
