Family Circus

Linda Rosenkrans

In a bustling three-ring circus, the family takes the stage,

A menagerie of pets and kids, in a chaotic rage.

The ex-wife on one side, the ex-husband on the other,

With their families in tow, each one like no other.

A lioness barks orders, fierce and unyielding,

While a clown prince juggles, smiles concealing.

Acrobatic grandkids swing from pole to pole,

While the tightrope walker navigates the family’s soul.

The challenges are plenty, the trials are tough,

But love binds them together, makes them strong enough.

The elephants of the past, heavy with regret,

Are lifted by forgiveness, a new path to set.

The trapeze artist soars high, with grace and ease,

Balancing the needs of all, aiming to please.

The ringmaster guides with a firm but gentle hand,

Uniting the circus of family, a harmonious band.

Through laughter and tears, they face each day,

A functional dysfunction, in a unique way.

The audience cheers, amazed at the show,

A family circus united, love its glow.
