Missions at Work in CCSB

Carol Thompson

Community Church at SaddleBrooke (CCSB) seeks to glorify God by being a community of grace where people will receive, live, and share the love of Jesus Christ.

As we try to live out our mission, we partner with ministries who are serving in the Tucson area and around the world. Over the past 12 months, CCSB donated over $140,000 to the following eight ministries: Salvation Army, Gilgal Gospel Mission, Gospel Rescue Mission, Family First, Operation Christmas Child, Young Life Capernaum, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. CCSB supports each group monthly.

In addition to our monthly support, we also give special offerings to many of the ministries. Examples include:

Salvation Army: CCSB provided over 1,500 cans of soup on “Souper” Bowl Sunday, donated bags filled with candy for their Harvest Festival, and our volunteers raised over $15,000 ringing bells at the Salvation Army Kettles at Bashas’.

Gilgal Gospel Mission: CCSB provided raincoats and backpacks for children and over $5,600 towards starting a church in a remote village in India.

Gospel Rescue Mission: CCSB provided Thanksgiving turkeys, Easter hams, and tableware for meals, as well as toiletries for their guests.

Family First: CCSB donated over 2,500 diapers and more than 50 backpacks filled with school supplies.

Operation Christmas Child: CCSB members provided 203 shoeboxes filled with school supplies, toys, and the saving message of Jesus Christ.

Young Life Capernaum: CCSB raised over $6,000 to send developmentally and intellectually challenged kids to camp where they could have fun in a loving environment and hear the gospel message.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA): CCSB raised over $6,000 to send budding athletes to FCA’s Christian faith-based athletic training camps.

Come each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. to the DesertView Performing Arts Center in SaddleBrooke. Join us as we reach out to our community and our world for Christ.
