Happy Tail: Six Pounds of Pure Love
Romayne Trudo
The luck of the Irish was certainly in play this March. Little Snowball, a two-year-old, six-pound Maltese/terrier mix, became homeless, because her person passed away unexpectedly. Fortunately, Snowball was placed in the welcoming arms of Donna at Ruff Rescue, a local foster-based rescue that works closely with SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network (SBPRN). Donna sent SBPRN’s rehoming coordinator pictures and a biography of this precious little girl, but words and pictures could not do her justice. We scheduled a meet and greet on March 5 with Shirley and Paul Miller, longtime residents of SaddleBrooke. The minute she walked into their home, she stole everyone’s hearts. Needless to say, she was adopted immediately, and her name is now Suzy Snowflake. Thank you, Shirley and Paul, for giving her a second chance at a wonderful life.
Unfortunately, this is a trend that we see in SaddleBrooke frequently, and SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network encourages all pet owners to have a formalized succession plan in place should the unthinkable happen. Just think about how traumatized your cherished pet would be being placed in a shelter setting after living their entire life in a home filled with love. Many of us have end-of-life arrangements already made. Please be sure to include your pets in these plans.
Happy Tail: Cutest Cowboy

SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network was contacted by a new dog mom, Janie Grinstead, oozing enthusiasm about the new dog she has recently adopted from one of our rescue partners, Oracle Animal Rescue & Rehabilitation (OARR).
His name is Stetson, and he is a very handsome boy. At the time of his adoption in March, he was 17 weeks old and 35 pounds. Janie has already had his DNA tested, and he is a combination of 19 breeds, with the top five being Australian cattle dog, lab, husky, chow chow, and German shepherd. She was not surprised when her veterinarian told her that he will weigh approximately 80 pounds when full grown. Janie describes his personality as sweet and playful. He has learned to shake paws and loves to do zoomies around the backyard.
We are delighted for Janie and Stetson and thank OARR for all of their hard work saving homeless animals in Pinal County and beyond. Because of the kindness of the volunteers at OARR and Janie, Stetson will have a wonderful, happy life.

Congratulations, Kay!
Last fall, SaddleBrooke Pet Rescue Network (SBPRN) received a donation of a beautiful fringe quilt created and donated by Linda Bradner. Raffle tickets were sold at the November 2023 Fashion Show and at the Adopt-A-Thon, which was held on April 18, 2024. The drawing was held on April 18 after the Adopt-A-Thon, and we are proud to announce the winner to be Kay Erb. The quilt was a much-sought-after item, and our rescue partners will benefit from the raffle sales. Thanks to everyone who participated in this raffle. Helping homeless animals is always a good cause.
