“What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play” and, better yet, dance to it by joining the SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club (SBDC).
This dance club is for everyone. No partner, no problem. Our DOWOP (Dancers Occasionally Without Partners) group is composed of both men and women, seasoned and beginner dancers, who pair up to learn different dance patterns and rotate partners, giving everyone a chance to dance. Novice classes give you an introduction to two different dances, and our roving Wranglers (seasoned dancers) will help by giving tips and dancing with those momentarily without partners.
At dinner dances and Friday night dances, a table or two are set aside for DOWOPs. This is a great way to meet people and feel comfortable in the group. It’s also a great opportunity to find a partner to accompany you to classes and future dances. You don’t have to sit at these designated tables, but you are always welcome to do so. In addition, many dancers with partners will be wearing ribbons to indicate that they will happily dance with others. In this way, everyone gets on the dance floor, and no one feels separated.
The SaddleBrooke Ballroom Dance Club is all about fun. While we strive to learn a few new dances or dance patterns, the exercise, both physical and mental, is great to keep us young and vital. What a bonus!
Our next big event is a Holiday Dance scheduled for Dec. 14 at the MountainView Ballroom in the SaddleBrooke TWO clubhouse. A plated dinner will be served, and DJ Bill Rigg will be providing music for your dancing pleasure. Novice Practice Parties are scheduled for Nov. 24 and Dec. 22 in the Vermilion Room in the SaddleBrooke One clubhouse.
Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to meet new people, and learn to dance or perfect your dancing ability. Check us out, sign up, and become a part of our enthusiastic group. As we like to say, “SaddleBrooke Dance Club is where the learning continues and the fun never ends.”
See you on the dance floor!
