Thanks to clubs like the MountainView Lady Putters (MVLP) in SaddleBrooke, the Mammoth-San Manuel Education Foundation will reap the dedication and drive to assist the neighboring school district. This year, the Putters strove to reach a donation goal of $2,000 to assist with the school’s Teachers Fund. Beginning in May, the ladies brought their donations to the monthly luncheon since we are currently unable to continue our weekly putting until October, but the marker was moving up the scale quite slowly.
With less than half of the anticipated goal by the end of July, a couple of the MVLP board members decided to make encouraging fundraising pleas via special emails to MVLP members and a dramatic personal advertisement at the August luncheon. This was enough to spur on the ladies to continue to give to reach the goal. At the September monthly luncheon, Marilyn Ginther, treasurer, and Karen Stott, Fundraiser Committee member, proudly revealed the check in the amount of $2,122 to be submitted to the school fund. The Putters came through with flying colors, exceeding the hopeful goal. “Teamwork makes the dream work.” Go Putters!
