Experiencing the loss of a loved one is very painful. The loss may be recent or it may have been awhile ago. Grieving for the loss of a son, daughter, spouse, a pet or other loved one puts one on the journey of bereavement. A support group can be a help in understanding grief and a place where it is safe to talk about your grief.
I went to a support group when my husband died and it provided me with various opportunities. It gave me the chance to talk about my sadness and difficulties in a safe place. Some of the things I talked about and others talked about were not subjects we might want to share with people outside of the group. I saw how others handled their grief. Some were very good role models for me. I attended every week until I was ready to move on.
The bereavement support group at SaddleBrooke is a safe and comfortable place for anyone who is experiencing a loss of a loved one. There is no cost and no pressure to come back.
The group meets every Sunday from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. in the Coyote Room, lower level, SaddleBrooke One Clubhouse; all residents are welcome. It is a free service provided by SaddleBrooke Health and Wellness.
