May 29 was our first post-COVID-19 event on the tennis patio. It certainly was a memorable night when SaddleBrooke Tennis Club (STC) members and their spouses showed off their dancing moves to the music of Chuck Moses. Craig and Benith MacPherson did not waste any time getting on the dance floor when Chuck started us off with the famous song “Margaritaville.” That got the party started, and the dancing continued until 8:30 p.m.
It was a great feeling to see almost 100 of our members mingling, dancing, and just having fun. Chips, pretzels, and popcorn were provided, along with soft beverages. Everyone enjoyed a beautiful night under the stars, reconnecting with friends and meeting new STC members.
It was very special to see many of our attendees wearing red poppies in honor of those who died in service to their country. The poppies were purchased from the American Legion by Doug Wolf, our STC president.
Thanks to the volunteers who made this event possible: co-chairs Debbie McGeehan and Joan Martin; clean up coordinators Carol and John Sochacki, Jim Marchisio, and JoAnn Bosworth; photos coordinators TJ Duffy and Ron Bouchard. Many thanks to our board of directors, who encourage and support all of our social events.
Cindy Madsen and Linda Foy planned a morning of tennis and POP for July 4, followed by an ice cream social!
