The snowbirds have flown, but the fun continues for the rest of us. The annual President’s Cup tournament held this month was a match play competition. Sixteen ladies vied for the title. Three of the initial matches were decided in extra holes. In the end, Janet Williams defeated Yvonne Garthwait in a close match. Janet was the 14th seed and is now our 2019 President’s Cup champion. Great work, Janet!
Another super accomplishment was a hole-in-one on May 28. Char Crossman holed Catalina 8 using a 7-iron. This was her first hole-in-one. Congratulations to Char.
Wendy Odell is our latest new member. This means we now have 92 full members, seven handicap-only members and ten social members. Welcome, Wendy.
Thanks to our rules chairman, Cathe Kropp, for her article on ESC score, actual/net score and maximum hole score. This was a good reminder to all members, both old and new.
Our June golf and luncheon was well attended, and the day was enjoyed by all. The Cha Cha Cha game was a fun, low stress competition.
Now we are looking forward to the Niners Unite tournament. This is a tournament where Lady Niners and Men’s Niners partner up for golf and, of course, lunch.
Again, we want to thank Coyote Golf Cars and Golf Cars of Arizona for their sponsorship of our group.
If you are looking for a fun golf group to join, consider the Niners.
