At the SaddleBrooke Hiking Club’s annual spring picnic on Friday, March 29, leaders bestowed the club’s annual Trailblazer Award for outstanding contributions over an extended period of time. This year’s recipient is Tim Butler, who has given time and efforts to the club in many capacities.
Tim has served as a hiking guide for many years, including as Chief Hiking guide. In fact, he is often referred to as ‘everyone’s favorite guide’. He is a person who never says ‘no’ when asked to serve the club. In addition to guiding, he performed duties as board secretary for two years. His many other volunteer duties include helping out at activity fairs and new hiker orientation programs. He recently spoke at a monthly club program, giving members an introduction to the wildflowers seen on the hiking trails. Tim is also very active in trail maintenance throughout the Golder Ranch area, toting his clippers on many hikes and personal ventures on the trails.
