Larry Linderman
Those of us fortunate enough to have been born in the United States and Canada while World War II was raging were spared the terror brought to millions across the globe as both sides rained death and destruction from above. Imagine countless civilians huddling in any shelter they could find as tons of deadly ordinance exploded all around them. Imagine them emerging from those shelters to see their neighborhoods, their homes, reduced to rubble. We who lived here were lucky indeed.
We are also lucky to have living in SaddleBrooke three people who will be sharing with the World War II Roundtable their memories of the war through their eyes as children. David Gould and Brenda Dawson lived through the bombing of England (the blitz). Ron Fisher was a resident of heavily bombed Kassel, Germany. They will share their stories with us on Thursday, November 15 at 1:00 p.m. in the Sonoran Room of the MountainView Clubhouse.
The SaddleBrooke World War II Roundtable is open to all SaddleBrooke residents and their guests. The Roundtable has no dues but we do ask those attending for a one dollar contribution. The contributions are used to treat our presenters to lunch and reimburse those driving to SaddleBrooke for gas.
