The Catalina Timewalkers of Questers hosted the Tucson Regional Meeting of Questers on March 16, 2018 at MountainView Country Club. Also participating in the event were members from the Sonoran Searchers and Thimble Creek Chapters. Daphne Davis, State President, Mary Miller State second Vice-President and Katy Wilcox, State Recording Secretary.
Harriet Shemer presented the program “Three Generations of Faberge.” On display were 23 of her egg collection. Daphne Davis also showed her collection of Faberge jewelry and several of her books on Faberge. Followed was a Q&A with questions of how much the originals cost. Composition of the eggs, modern trends, how many books and movies features the eggs and the discussion ended with a picture the newest egg commissioned for Queen Elizabeth II, The Queen’s Egg at the cost of 370,000 pounds. Sandi Newberry chaired the event. Members of the committee were Harriet Shemer, Beatriz Costello, Gerry Burnside and Marilyn Bertke.
The Catalina Timewalkers welcomes new members. We meet on the third Friday from October through May. Exceptions are December and May when we meet on the second Friday of the month. The purpose of Questers is to stimulate the appreciation of antiques and collectibles through study and to encourage the restoration and preservation of historic landmarks.
