The Community Church at SaddleBrooke (CCSB) held its third annual Men’s Rally on March 15, 2016, and from the feedback received it was a big success.
Pastor Ron Gannett spoke to an audience of over 70 men who gathered to hear him speak on this year’s theme: Becoming the Man in my Mirror. Pastor Ron explained that most of the attendees were entering the fourth quarter of their lives and why it was important for them to make the most of their individual God-given talents.
One dominant question seemed to be a common factor among those who attended; how to share their faith with others. We all have friends that we care for dearly, but some of those friends are not believers. For some sharing one’s faith with others can be intimidating and difficult, but Pastor Ron gave three simple ways to overcome the fear of sharing and he cited scripture from the Bible to support these steps:
1. Pray – Ask God to open doors – Colossians 4:2-4
2. Walk in the way – Colossians 4: 5
3. Talk – Share your story with grace – Colossians 4:6
All the men had a great day of learning, companionship and sharing the good food provided by Pam Hall and her husband Clark. The event was hosted by Kerry Blount and the five hours of learning flew by.
The annual Men’s Rally has become a very popular tradition at Community Church and the men are already looking forward to another great rally next year.
CCSB meets every Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. in the DesertView Theatre. We are an all-denominational Christian Church and all are welcome.
