2021 SBCO Home Tour Canceled

Nancy McCluskey-Moore

SaddleBrooke Ranch Community Outreach (SBCO) had originally planned to host our very popular annual Home Tour on April 4, 2020, but the coronavirus had other plans. Like many other groups, we had to postpone this event. This past fall we thought moving the event to April 10, 2021, would allow sufficient time for the pandemic to abate as the vaccination program rolled out. However, the high coronavirus caseload in Arizona and the time it will take for most SaddleBrooke residents to receive two doses of the vaccine has convinced us that this plan was too optimistic. The SBCO Board of Directors has decided it is best to cancel the tour until it is safe to hold an in-person event.

SBCO would like to thank the homeowners who graciously offered to participate in the tour, along with the volunteer docents, our generous sponsors, and the many SaddleBrooke and SaddleBrooke Ranch residents who purchased tickets. We appreciate everyone’s support. This event is a good source of funding for our programs that provide food, clothing, and educational opportunities to local students.

Ticket purchasers have been notified by email about this cancellation. If you purchased ticket(s) for the tour but missed the email, you should know that you have two options:

1. Request a cash refund by going to the SBCO office at Ste. L in the SaddleBrooke business plaza (the complex by the Minit Market). We offer these dates for ticket refunds: Feb. 3, 4, 10, and 11 between 1 and 3 p.m. Please bring your ticket(s) with you. If you cannot come to the office on one of these dates, perhaps you can give your tickets to a neighbor to handle the refund for you. If you have any questions about refunds, please send an email to [email protected]. The cut-off date for refunds is Feb. 15.

2. Donate the value of your ticket(s) to SBCO. Like many nonprofits, we have been impacted by COVID-19. The cancellation of fundraising events and reduced income from the Golden Goose Thrift Store cut our funding for 2020. However, the needs of local children for food, clothing, and educational opportunities have remained the same or, in many cases, increased. If you would like to donate your tickets, drop off your tickets at the SBCO office or mail them to: SBCO, 63675 E. SaddleBrooke Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85739.

Donations to SaddleBrooke Community Outreach, a 501(c)(3) charity, are tax deductible and may also contribute to the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit. Please consult with your tax advisor. The SBCO Tax Number is 86-0843458, and the AZ Tax Code is 20214.
